This September, Music for the People is set to return to the Kamloopa Arbour for the fourth edition of the event. In addition to the event on September 7, Margit Bandura has launched a scholarship in honour of her late husband, Rod ‘Little Sky’ Bandura. So far, they have received applications from people between 10 and 70 years old.

“Rod was so passionate about music and sharing it with people and the idea just kind of popped into my head, and Long and McQuade was onboard instantly,” said Bandura. “What it is… is a year’s worth of music lessons, along with the instrument of your choice up to $700 — so you can basically get anything for that, right? And the only stipulation is you have to be Indigenous.”
